Cardiology Department is committed to provide highest quality and cost effective care to their patients. It also strives hard to sensitize the general public and society regarding various heart diseases by organizing community walks and by running preventive clinics.
The cardiac diagnostic facilities offered here are 24/7 electrocardiography (ECG), Holter ECG monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM), Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Trans esophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) and CT-Angiography.
Infrastructure: The Cardiology unit MTI, MMC is comprised of a fully functional nine (09) bedded coronary unit (CCU), a thirteen (13) bedded cardiology ward.
Trainings: The unit is also accredited with CPSP for postgraduate training program in adult cardiology for Trainee Medical Officers (TMO’s) along with House officers, BS Nursing and BS Cardiology students are also gave required training.
Teaching and Research activities: There is also a regular program for teaching and research activities where CPCs, Journal clubs, case presentations/discussions and hands on training sessions of ECHO/ECG are arranged for the postgraduate trainees on weekly basis.
Quality control: Quality control is kept under a vigilant eye for providing good patient care. It is assured by double checking the administration of all the lifesaving drugs.
Future Plan: In future, we are planning to develop a fully functional interventional and electrophysiological (EP) Cath- lab along with cardiac rehabilitation center.
